Alan Wake 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur’s Gate 3 och Super Mario Bros. Wonder är aktuella för The Game Awards’ högsta pris för Årets spel, Geoff Keighley meddelade på måndagen.
Både Baldur’s Gate 3 och Alan Wake 2 leder gruppen med åtta nomineringar i alla kategorier, följt av Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 med sju, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom och Super Mario Bros. Wonder vid fem, och Resident Evil 4 med tre.
Det är ett stort år för Nintendo, med totalt 15 nomineringar. PlayStation följer med 13; Xbox med 10; Epic Games med nio; Capcom, Larian och Square Enix alla med åtta; Electronic Arts med sex; och CD Projekt Red och Riot Games med fyra nomineringar. Särskilt frånvarande i de flesta kategorier är dock Bethesda Softworks Starfield, som bara fick en nominering i kategorin bästa rollspel.
Game Awards kommer att sändas live den 7 december från Microsoft Theatre i Los Angeles. Vid sidan av utmärkelserna förväntas Keighley också debutera massor av videospelstrailers. Även om 2023 har haft ett obestridligt stort antal videospelssläpp, har det också varit ett tufft år för branschen och dess arbetare; mer än 6 000 personer blev uppsagda från jobb inom videospelsindustrin i år.
